Dear Friends,
Have you ever had those moments when listening to a speaker for work, school, online or at church and thought “are they reading my journal?”….
I feel that way with our current series at church. You can check it out HERE if you need a little glimpse into my crazy. The last 2 weeks have been a stomp on my toes kind of experience – in the very best way!
It’s created some really awesome conversations between some friends and I about how to process our pasts, have we actually dealt with some things we believed we had dealt with, how we have such room to grow and how there is such freedom in accepting grace not just for others but for our own lives.
I really love my friends. They are brave. They are warriors. They are survivors. They are “normal” everyday humans that are doing exceptional things. They are overcoming what was thrown at them. They are redefining their worth according to truth and leaving behind the lies others have said about them. They are dedication attention to growth and movement in their lives. They are dreamers and achievers. And some of them are willing to share parts of their stories.
So over the next few weeks we will be joined by a few guest bloggers who are sharing how they are “dancing with the scars” of their lives.
I love the quote “My scars tell a story. They are reminders of times when life tried to break me, but failed. They are markings of where the structure of my character was welded.”
We all have scars and battle wounds. Some of them are from really silly mistakes me made, some of them are from really crappy situations and some aren’t quite healed into a scar yet, they still need a little wound care.
This week my prayer for each of you is that your past doesn’t limit you but propels you – towards new hope, a fresh tomorrow, a glance of perspective a reminder of grace. Learn and grow.
I’m excite to share with you some of the stories of my friends over the next few weeks. I’m less excited to continue working through my own story LOL as this series and life has definitely shown me some areas where I thought I was much further in the growth process that I really am. DANGIT! ahhahahaah 🙂 So buckle up friends – it’s about to get real.
