Dear Friends,
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I want immediate results. I’m the worst at being consistent over a long period of time and waiting for change.
Just this week I was talking with a friend who is a super athlete. I was whining that after working out for a week and following all my eating rules for 20 days that I did not have defined biceps yet. Like come on how long can it take (oh forever? ok ok ok)
Their response to my failed attempt to flex (to which one of my precious now fave college girls exclaimed “I see a baby shadow it’s there”) was to CELEBRATE EVERY VICTORY.
Bam – truth.
Celebrate every victory. It goes hand in hand with my cousin this week saying “I can’t do something for 21 days but I can do something for 1 day, 21 times). Celebrate every victory.
This week I finished a journal. This shouldn’t be a big deal but …. I always quit before I finish one. I have a lot of journals 3/4 of the way through, but no finished ones. Until this week. For me, it was a reminder that discipline in one area of my life encourages discipline in other areas of my life. Days I start with my journal, Bible and book in front of me are days I am more kind, more aware and less, well…sassy (the bad kind).
Celebrate every victory.
What victories can you celebrate this week?
Keep going friends!
